Canola Market Outlook: March 7, 2022

Weekly canola market outlook provided by Marlene Boersch of Mercantile Consulting Venture Inc.

Key Points for the Week:

  • Soybeans – The CBOT soybean complex ended higher last week, but the percent gains are far smaller than for the grains.

  • Next Wednesday’s USDA report and the potential adjustments to US exports and to S American crops that are the prime focus for the soybean market.

  • Canola – Total canola disappearance during the first thirty weeks of the crop year amounted to 9.2 million MT compared to 13.2 million MT last YTD.

  • Rapeseed oil in Rotterdam hit an incredible $2,120.00/MT.

  • We think that new crop canola should be sold as cash for ~ 50 percent of planned acres.
