Weekly canola market outlook provided by Marlene Boersch of Mercantile Consulting Venture Inc.

Key Points for the Week:

  • Soybeans – This Monday, soybeans ended with 23-26c gains, up as much as 2%.

  • Highly profitable crush margins will keep the US crush at full capacity throughout the season.

  • Canola – Total canola disappearance during the first thirty weeks of the crop year amounted to 9.6 million MT compared to 14.1 million MT last YTD.

  • Rapeseed oil in Rotterdam hit an incredible $2,200.00/MT.

  • We recommend growers be sold at about 50 percent of their expected new crop production to be covered on their variable costs and crop insurance.
