Board Election 2024

Thomas MacKenzie

Zehner, SK

My name is Thomas MacKenzie and I farm in Zehner along with my wife Sarah and our 18-year-old son Wyatt. We farm grain and dairy along with my parents as well as two of my brothers and their families. I am passionate about the agricultural industry and working to ensure that future generations like my son and my brothers’ children have the opportunity to pursue farming as a viable career choice should they so choose.

I have been a Director with SaskFlax and SaskMilk previously and have really enjoyed being involved at this level.  Growing oilseeds is an integral piece of our farming operation, and I believe there is a strong need for farmer driven organizations to advocate for their industries. This prompted my interest in running in this election.  I feel the biggest challenge facing canola growers and agriculture as a whole right now is the current political climate.

That said, I believe that collaboration among producers is essential for addressing industry challenges and promoting innovative solutions. My experience in both the grain and dairy sectors allows me to bring a unique perspective to the table and I hope to have the opportunity to do that with SaskOilseeds.
