Board Election 2024

Codie Nagy

Ogema, SK

I am a first generation grain farmer from Ogema Sask where I live with my wife and 2 kids. We grow canola, durum, chickpeas and lentils. For the last 4 years, I have served on SaskOilseeds (SaskCanola) as a director. I am currently the chair of the research committee and also serve as a SaskOilseeds rep on CCGA for the past 2 years, where I am the current Treasurer. I also sit as the Vice Chair for the Western Canadian Canola/Rapeseed Recommending Committee as well as other numerous subcommittees over the last 4 years.

The current agricultural industry has some pretty strong headwinds. I believe with my ambition and experience gained over the last 4 years, I would be a valuable asset to everyone in the industry. This role can be intense at times and you need to have a wide array of knowledge of the industry. My desire for gaining knowledge has and will serve me well in this role.

Locally, I am the current chair of the Ogema Rink Board and minor hockey association. I also sit on our Ogema Cultural and Recreational Authority and community auction committee. From 2016 to 2019 I served a term as a town councillor for Ogema. Previously, I chaired the Ogema School Community Council and served as a director for the Ogema Housing Corp and Authority. I also serve as a Volunteer Firefighter. Whether it’s locally, provincially or federally, I believe in bettering whatever community I am involved in.

In my spare time, I enjoy coaching my son and daughter in hockey, playing hockey myself, hunting and fishing.

I have sincerely enjoyed my time as a director and would gladly do another 4 year term.
