Voting Period Now Open for SaskOilseeds’ Board Election
November 1, 2024 – The voting period for SaskOilseeds’ Board election is now open. Registered producers* will receive a letter this week with instructions and a unique identifier code to use in the online voting platform oilseedsvote.com. Nicole Yip, Levy Central Senior Operations Representative, will serve as the Returning Officer. Voting must be completed by 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on November 29, 2024.
Five nominations were received to fill four positions on the SaskOilseeds’ Board. The candidates include:
David Altrogge – St. Benedict
Patricia Lung – Lake Lenore
Thomas MacKenzie – Zehner
Codie Nagy – Ogema
Dean Roberts – Coleville

Keith Fournier has reached his tenure, serving eight years as a Director, and will depart the Board in January following SaskOilseeds’ AGM - to be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon in concert with Sask Crops Forum.
The election results will be announced in December.
*A registered producer is any producer who has sold canola and/or flax in either of the previous two crop years and has not requested a levy refund in the past year.
SaskCanola (est. 1991) and SaskFlax (est. 1996) amalgamated in 2024. The newly formed SaskOilseeds is a producer-led organization, established in 2024 and supported by 17,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan canola growers and 3,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan flax growers. SaskOilseeds’ mandate is to provide value to oilseed growers through research, advocacy, and market development.
